국제갤러리 최재은은 11월 8일 국립현대미술관 서울관에서 개최하는 “MMCA 글로벌네트워크포럼-비무장 지대(DMZ) 공중정원 프로젝트”에 참여한다. 문화예술계 전반의 동향을 파악하고 동시대 미술의 이슈에 대해 살펴보는 글로벌 네트워크 포럼의 세 번째 시간으로, 비무장 지대(DMZ) 공중정원 프로젝트를 기획한 최재은과 세계적인 건축가 시게루 반이 프로젝트 <夢의 庭園 / Dreaming of Earth>에 대한 대담을 진행한다. <夢의 庭園>은 한반도 비무장지대 경계에 위치한 3~6m 높이의 공중에 떠있는 13개의 정원으로, 분단 사이에 조성된 인간의 손이 닿지 않은 자연을 조망할 수 있으며 이를 통해 분단국가의 경계가 지니는 현실을 생태계를 통해 반추하며 회복하고자 한다. 

Jae-Eun Choi will participate in the MMCA Global Network Forum – Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Open Air Sculpture Garden Project at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, opening November 8^th. The third session of the Global Network Forums, this forum will feature a talk about Dreaming of Earth with Jae-Eun Choi who developed the DMZ Open Air Sculpture Garden Project and the internationally-renowned architect Shigeru Ban. Installed on the border of Korea’s demilitarized zone, Dreaming of Earth consists of 13 floating gardens 3~6m off the ground, where the viewer is able to witness nature untouched by people through the partitions. The project was developed in hopes of ruminating and recovering from the realities of living with the borders of a divided nation.
