국제갤러리의 칸디다 회퍼는 12월 3일부터 2017년 1월 29일까지 베를린 소재의 신베를린 미술협회 (Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, 이하 n.b.k.)에서 개인전 <Nach Berlin (To / After Berlin)>을 개최한다. 이번 전시 제목은 베를린 이주자들의 일상적 모습을 담고 있는 영화 ‘에밀과 탐정들(1931)’ 에서 전시명을 차용하였으며, 세 프로젝션 'Türken in Deutschland (Turks in Germany)'(1979), 'Memories 2016', 'Berlin 2016' 을 통해 작가의 주된 관심사인 공공 장소와 건축적 구조에 대한 실험 정신을 살펴볼 수 있다. 또한 최근 사진 작업은 이전의 화려한 형태에서 단순한 형태로, 전체적인 외관에서 일부의 디테일을 중점으로 전환한 새로운 시도를 엿볼 수 있다.  

Candida Höfer will hold a solo exhibition, Nach Berlin (To / After Berlin), from December 3, 2016 to January 29, 2017, at Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (hereafter n.b.k.) located in Berlin. The title of this exhibition is a quote from the film Emil and the Detectives (1931), which illustrates the daily lives of immigrants in Berlin. Projections from three series, Türken in Deutschland (Turks in Germany) (1979), Memories 2016, and Berlin 2016, will be on view, allowing for a thorough examination of the artist’s experimental approach towards public spaces and architectural structures, two of her favorite subjects. Her recent body of work reveals a shift towards details from the overall exterior, towards simplicity from the heretofore splendor.
