국제갤러리의 마이클 주는 1월 31일부터 7월 2일까지 보카 레이튼 미술관에서 개최하는 그룹전 <글라스트레스 보카 레이튼 (GLASSTRESS BOCA RATON)>에 참여한다. 이번 전시는 ‘공예’라는 전통적인 소재를 현대적인 시각으로 전환하여 보여주려는 시도의 일환으로 기획되었으며, 무라노 섬에 소재한 버렌고 스튜디오의 글라스트레스와 현대작가들의 협업으로 진행된 43개의 유리 작업을 선보인다. 인종, 정체성, 식민주의와 생물종 다양성, 국제적 기아, 이상 기후에 이르는 다양한 이슈를 주제로 하는 퍼포먼스, 비디오, 인터렉티브 미디어, 디자인, 비디오 게임 등으로 구성된다. 

Michael Joo will participate in Glasstress Boca Raton, a group exhibition taking place January 31 to July 2 at the Boca Raton Museum of Art in South Florida. This exhibition attempts to cast a contemporary perspective onto the traditional practice of craftmaking. The show features 43 glass installations by contemporary artists made in collaboration with Glasstress, Venice, an international organization for glass crafts, and Berengo Studio, Murano. These works, which incorporate performance, video, interactive media, design and video games, delve into themes ranging from race, identity, and colonialism, to issues of biological diversity, global hunger, and climate change.
