국제갤러리의 양혜규 작가는 올해 플래시 아트에서 선정한 100인의 작가로 선정되었다. 이탈리아의 대표적인 현대미술잡지인 플래시 아트는 대표적인 미술계 인사와 더불어 자사 독자 및 플래시 아트 아이패드 어플리케이션 사용자들의 투표로 이루어졌으며, 양혜규 작가는 순위 45위에 올랐다.
이번 선정에 관하여 플래시아트의 기사를 발췌하자면, “투표에 참여한 이들은 적극적으로 예술 분야에서 그들의 움직임을 만들어가는 대중들, 곧 적극적으로 전시를 관람하고, 전문적인 예술 잡지를 구독하여 읽으면서, 예술에 대한 그들만의 주도적인 의견을 보여주는 이들은 오늘날 미술과 문화의 진정한 비평가라고 할 수 있다”고 표현했다. 곧 숫자적인 의미보다는 폭 넓은 층의 관심을 받는다는 점에서 흥미로운 점이라 하겠다.

In the poll, they have asked readers of the Flash Art and the users of the new Flash Art iPad application ? Haegue Yang has been ranked 45th.
Helena Kontova and Giancarlo Politi of Flash Art have mentioned that “It is a large public, actively following art by attending exhibitions and keeping up-to-date by reading specialized art magazines. It is a public that creates movement in the art scene through the judgments made in a few passing comments that, when grouped together and elaborated upon, become the leading opinion of today’s art. Because in the end, the public is the true judge and critic of the art and culture of our time.” This is a direct quote from Helena Kontova and Giancarlo Politi. This survey is quite powerful in that this Top 100 grasps public opinion of art, of those who are ardently absorbed in the current art scene.
